On Drumossie Moor the sad echoes of Culloden battle… — 6 Comments

  1. Clan Murray

Many settled in North Carolina. Our state is full of good Scottish blood and I’m a proud descendent.

    Would like to know more.

  2. My husband and I visited Culludon Moor once while on holiday from South Africa. Must have been 2013.

It was the eeriest, saddest place I had ever experienced. Such sadness now seems so unnecessary. But also a wonderful historic place. The visitor centre was closed, so we took a walk around onto the battle field. It was just the two of us. Wonderful place to visit when it is quiet and not many people around.

  3. Our local regiment, the Northamptonshire Regt. removed Culloden from its battle honours out of respect for the fallen Highlanders. The plan to build there is not just disrespectful, it is desecration of a site made sacred by the blood of the fallen clansmen. What unspeakable cretin dreamed uo the idea of building there? i feel horrified, and I’m not a Scot your council should hing his heed in shame

  4. I have been to the Moor shut your eyes and you can when the wind blows hear the men calling out their companies and the guns…
